January 2009

So my room was just cleaned up with all the useless things thrown out, a.k.a- spring cleaning, yes finally lol. Anyway upon returning home i saw this motivational poster on my wall, it was intriguing to me so here it goes:

Winners vs Losers

When a winner makes a mistake, he says “I was wrong” ; When a lose makes a mistake, he says “it was’nt my fault”

A winner works harder than a loser and has more time; a loser is always too busy to do what is neccessary.

A winner goes through a problem; a loser goes around it and never goes pass it.

A winner makes commitments; a loser makes promises

A winner respects those who are superior to him and tries to learn from them; a loser resents those who are superior to him and tries to find chinks in their armour.

A winner feels responsible for more than his job; a loser says “i only work here”

A winner says “there ought to be a better way to do it” ; a loser says “thats the way it’s always been done here”

A funny thought came into my head when i was reading a certain someone’s blog; what if everything was possible?

Instantly, this struck my head; if everything was possible, we should first solve the traffic overcrowding in singapore! Yes traffic is that horrible to me, you’d agree with me too if you had take a bus traveling slower than a child on a tricycle.

So firstly our cars will run on nitrogen, 78% of sea level atmostphere is nitrogen; why not carbon dioxide? plants need to breathe too! hah! There, all the oil crisis all solved along with it. Next, our cars will be made of a flexible yet strong alloy of metal, with the ability to go back to its original shape when dinged, preventing all sorts of collisions, accidents and what nots.

oh wait, if everything was possible, just teleport lah! hahahah gosh!

okay, im gona go find out how to disintegrate molecules and rearrange them in another space, in the right order now!

Butterflies, beautiful creatures with sadly a short life span; When i was a kid, I loved chasing those little butterflies and i remember they came in all sorts of colors, pink, yellow, purple, orange and I’d run after them till they came to a resting spot. Butterflies are somewhat mystical creatures in those days, they are set apart from the other insects in the insect kingdom, i used to hear stories about butterflies, stuff like how seeing a white butterfly is good luck, stuff like butterflies are the colors of the wind but there’s this one that i just could’nt understand at that point of time and it goes like: “When a butterfly flaps it wings, it’ll create a tornado elsewhere”

That was a mystery to me, i thought to myself : “There are so many butterflies flapping their wings in this world, this can’t be true, if it was, everyone would be dead by now” Little did i know that the story makes perfect sense to me this day, it is known as the butterfly effect.

The butterfly effect, whereby when a small action might lead to a big deviation in the results it produced is very true. Say for example when a seagull flaps it wings, it’ll create a change in the weather course forever or, putting it into today’s time traveling theory context, if you kill the supposedly-to-be researcher who finds the cure for every disease, the ultimate vaccine, the world will be doomed to countless years of diseases and sicknesses ahead. The butterfly effect is that simple.

Our world, made by theories, experiments, processes that come together to support one another. Our world today, its what people in the past used to believe, its what people in the present build on. All these came together, to make up “science”, structured by the many phenomenons observed, recordings and basic theories were produced, mathematical definition was expanded, the understanding of the world around us led to the many technological advances, breakthroughs, leaps. Just because someone decided to try explain what he observed.

Today, the butterfly effect can be explained mathematically, a slight deviation in the Lorez attractor has proven that a displacement of a single coordinate no matter how minor, will lead to a different end results.

What we do in life today, will determine and what our end results will be like. From every decision made in life, from every thought you ever had, will affect what the kind of home you stay in, the wife you have, the neighbor next door, that car you drive, the job you’re holding on so tightly to. Think about it.

Walking through the path full of pebbles

Hey wordpress, its this time of the month where by i fill you up with love once agian hah!

So anyway, its friday once again, next week’s the last week of school before i head off for a holiday, honestly this semester had been a rough time for me, complacency overtook me once again. Dissapointments upon dissapointments, with myself. If you guys could look into my LEO you’d find more Xs than your As (with exceptions of course) so anyway i manage to scrape through this semester, can’t wait for school to just end.

whooopie take a look at today’s RJ question:

What kind of work was done in the team today? Eigen work or displacement work? Which kind of work benefits the team more?

seriously whaaaaat in the world is that?!

okay now im off to solve this enigma hah:D

Hello 2009 i’m sorry i’m one day late to put you on the exact date but who cares! hah! Anyway howdy wordpress readers :) I don’t know about you guys but 2008 has been the most eventful and significant part of my life.

The friends i’ve come to know, the people whom i care for, the classmates placed in my life are simply amazing. Poly life is good for me, learnt so much in poly. Looking back, RP is not that bad afterall. Or at least the fun is starting already, finally. Can’t wait for the next holiday, 3 more weeks of school and bam! the holidays, again! Haha

Ah well have’nt done my to-do list for 2009 but i do know a few things i have to do this year, things that i would want to accomplish, dreams to fulfill, hobbies to pursue. Hopefully doubt and insecurities wont get the better of me this year.

So wordpress readers I hope 2009 will be a better year for you and have a great friday :)
